Rachel Peniche is a San Diego native and graduate of The University of San Diego High School. She then attended Clark University in Worcester, MA. Rachel began working in the Special Event industry in 2000 when she coordinated the celebrity and VIP arrangements for The Governor Gray Davis Committee at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.
That same year, after taking the Event Management Program at USD and the Meeting Management & Special Events Planner Program at UCSD, Rachel started Plan It San Diego, an event planning and coordination company specializing in weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs and other corporate, political and non-profit events. She stays current with the latest event trends by attending industry association meetings such as WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) and NACE (National Association for Catering and Events.)

Ms. Peniche teaches Wedding and Event courses at San Diego State University College of Extended Studies. She is very involved in the community, volunteering countless hours to Rady Children's Hospital, The Thursday Club, and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society where she currently serves as Chair of the San Diego/Hawaii Chapter's Board of Directors .
